Taking the Scenic Route

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

“Taking the Scenic Route” explores how to construct compelling scenes that can stand alone or support a full-length play. A moderated and diverse panel maps out ways to enhance a scene with subtext and tension, conflict and negotiation, and then surveys how a series of scenes of escalating intensity leads toward climax, resolution, and revelation: from aha! to ahhh.
Panelists will share their tips for creating scenes and what they have learned about their scripts by watching and listening to actors and directors in read-through and rehearsal. Aspiring and experienced writers are invited to join the conversation.
