So U Wanna Make Ur Theater Inclusive? Things to check before you wreck

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

This panel/workshop gathers Triangle-based theater artists and educators to discuss aspirations and missteps regarding the goal of inclusive programming (across the broadest spectrum of identity dimensions: gender/non-binary, sexuality, race, neurodiversity, physicality, age, etc.) beyond just one play/project. There will be a 30 minute panel discussion and then participants will be asked to break into small groups and engage exercises allowing them to take a deep dive into inclusivity around season selection & casting, marketing language, rehearsal practices, and audience engagement to collect questions, concerns, best practices, and encourage reflexivity around the motivations and institutional capacities regarding inclusion, equity, and access.
